This section features information helpful to those participating in the court process:

  • A brief description of the case types (next page) handled by the court is provided, in addition to links to the Rules of Practice and Rules of Procedure, which govern State Bar Court proceedings.
  • Attorneys facing discipline charges who wish to try to resolve the matter prior to having charges filed may request an Early Neutral Evaluation Conference. The request form, procedures and related rule are featured in this section.
  • Attorneys who have substance abuse or mental health issues should refer to Rules 5.380 - 5.389, Rules of Procedure of the State Bar.
  • Information about discipline costs, Rule 9.20 compliance, (previously called Rule 955 compliance), and registering for and taking the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE) are also provided.
  • Previously disbarred attorneys or those attorneys who resigned and who wish to seek reinstatement will find helpful information in the section entitled Reinstatement Proceedings.

State Bar Court case dockets are available online. A docket is a summary, list, or index of proceedings or events in a case. It may also include court documents.

The calendar is provided to assist the public and parties in accessing information about cases on the State Bar Court's public calendar.

State Bar Court is transitioning to a new online portal that will provide faster and more complete online access to records. Quick Start Guide

  • For cases filed on or after Feb 7, 2019, documents are available online.
  • For cases in open status on Feb. 7, 2019, documents are being added online as events occur.
  • For cases closed prior to Feb. 7, 2019, some documents are available on the attorney's profile page on the State Bar website. Other documents for closed cases are available upon written request.
  • For a complete paper docket, please submit a written request.
